power windows electrical issues
ok so i just did the power windows and mirror conversion to my 96 hatch i used a 98 ex 2dr harness (floor and door) and motors i know the motors work because i used a jumper from the cig lighter to use power to operate the each motor temporarily. but my issue is everything is connected and nothing i have the relay the fuses are in the right place the harness is in pristine condition i know that the passenger switch works (but wont power the motor right now pulled it from a friends parts carand worked when i pulled it off) dont know about the driver side tho i dont have the intercontrol lock unit for the power door locks yet but will soon does any one have any ideas as to what could be my problem is could it be that i dont have something connected (ie: inter control lock unit) any input is greatly appreciated.

Do you have the blue box connected? (see pic below)
I recently replaced my window regulator and motor. I took mine off and forgot to plug the box in. I wanted to test the windows and nothing happened until i plugged it in.
i got this from http://repo.jackmoves.com/v/erik/alb...206/?g2_page=1

Re: power windows electrical issues
Ok so do I have to have the blue box or should I have power with out the blue box
On a side note going from manual to power I had to put in new handle covers and I have an aftermarket alarm system from before the swap so how do I keep the locking on arming and the unlocking on disarm

Re: power windows electrical issues
if i read correctly your having issues with your windows i did a power window conversion on my hatch everything worked fine with out the blue box but then again i didn't do everything how you did it. i just wired it up to where i only needed power to the windows but it seems like you're having a grounding issue
http://repo.jackmoves.com/v/erik/album106/album206/
that might help
and i suggest you actually run power from the fuse box rather than your cigarette lighter

Re: power windows electrical issues
I only used the cig lighter power to test the motors to make sure that they worked not to run the whole thing so please stop telling me to not use the cig lighter cuz now its in its normal state.
Any one know if my problem is not having the blue box for sure I just want to be sure I used the conversion from repo.jackmoves.com.and it says that you only need the blue box for power locks.

Re: power windows electrical issues
Ok so I got the blue box plugged it in nothin started testing the wires and I got stopped at the 2nd one the one where you test for power. At a1 and a6. Relay is new from dealer and the fuses are new where should I look to see if the wire would be loose or have an open in the circuit???

Re: power windows electrical issues
Are you saying that there was no voltage on either a1 or a6 with the key in ON(II)? If so, you have pinpointed the problem. Are you sure fuses 10 and 11 are fine? If so, now check for whether dash fuse 24 (7.5A) or hood fuse 46 (40A) is blown.

Re: power windows electrical issues
The blue box is for the power locks and has nothing to do with the power windows.
