Power steering question.
Hey guys I remember there was a special technqiue people did with looping a tube on the power steering rack. I can't seem to find the thread, does anyone know of the process?

yeah you basically find the two ports that have the hardlines that lead to the pump and the other one that leads to the canister, you find the fittings at the hardware store where basically you will make a T connection and the end of it goes up to any little reservoir you want to use where it will let air flow throught the system but you can keep it lubricated from the reservoir.

Would it be bad if this guy has been running the car w/o P/S for a while and all the fluid is probably sucked out and dry? Would there be some way to hydrate it withs ome P/S fluid and then loop the lines like your suggesting? I'm assuming it needs some type of fluid in there for this trick to work right?

hey i foudn the thread. Now my main question is how am I going to re-hydrate the system with power steering fluidd if it's been disconnected for quite some time now?

what do u mean disconnected? u took off the belt or you completely removed everything and just left the holes on the rack exposed?

No, he took the pump off, and then the long tube that connects to the pump I think, he removed that but it was just hanging around in the engine bay. so pretty much yeah, he just disconnected it and left the hoses exposed
