Re: power steering oil question
-Disconnect the return line and put the end in a bottle. Don't have it going into a drip pan as the fluid will come shooting out and splatter everywhere and you'll spend an hour cleaning brake fluid off your paint.
-Turn the car on and cycle the steering from lock to lock until no more fluid comes out.
-Replace the return line and fill the reservoir with fluid.
-Repeat as necessary until the fluid is clear.

Re: power steering oil question
Whenever I change the power steering fluid I do it like this.
1. Disconnect return hose and place in container or another hose leading to a container.
2. Turn the car on and turn the wheel GENTLY lock to lock three times.
3. Turn the car off and fill reservoir with new fluid (tilting reservoir to hold more)
4. Turn the car on for three seconds to let it suck the new fluid in. Repeat steps #3 & #4 until clean fluid comes through the return hose.
5. Reconnect the return hose and put everything back in place.
6. Refill reservoir, start the car, and turn it lock to lock GENTLY three times. This gets the air out of the system. Repeat step #6 until the fluid doesn't need to be topped off.
Also, ONLY use Honda brand power steering fluid. It only costs ~$3 per bottle from the dealer so don’t be cheap. You'll need 3-4 (12oz I think) bottles for the whole thing. Pat yourself on the back for a job well done. Repeat in 100k miles.

Re: power steering oil question
I've also used a simple turkey baster to suction all the fluid out of the reservoir, then fill with fresh fluid. Run the engine and turn wheels lock to lock to circulate the fresh fluid through the system. Do this for a while. Repeat the process with the turkey baster, circulate, etc. several times, and you should be good to go!
