Power Steering not working when its cold out.
It’s been pretty damn cold here past couple weeks.
Last time it got really cold like 0 F out my power steering didn't want to work until the car warmed up some, and then started working again.
The same thing happened today. I'm guessing it got pretty cold out last night and was pretty windy out. I believe it got down to 9 F
My car did the same thing. Power steering didn't want to work till the car warmed up. I don't remember experiencing this in past winters.
Is there something wrong or that’s what happens when it gets cold out.

yep used to happen to me all the time, try changing your fluid, it helped me a little. I landed up removing the p/s ****, and went to manual

I've got the same thing happening to me now. Power steering is really weak when it's cold out until the car warms up. Any updates on this?
I suspect someone may have put non-honda PS fluid in mine, so I'm going to do a flush.

Well if its really cold out, it will take some time for the fluid to warm up, in the mornings i know my powersteering feels real stiff, but once it gets moving a bit and warms up it seems to help. Im guessing it's just the cold weather, cuz thats what is making mine suck ***
Bottom line is the fluid is getting super cold and is getting thick, causing the steering to feel like ***, once it warms up it should be better.

I've driven other EK civics when it's been this cold out (I used to work at a dealership) and mine is a lot stiffer. It also takes a REALLY long time to loosen up a bit (never fully)... like an hour or so of city driving (which I rarely do)
