Power options from OBD2b 99 si into OBD2a 97 ek with OBD2b b20 swap
Hey everyone, I've done quite a bit of researching and seen a lot of conflicting opinions and i'm trying to figure out what is the best way to go about this and whether or not there is a better way doing it.
Currently I have a 97 civic hatch manual trans, no factory power options with stock d16y7 (0bd2a). I have swapped the 96-98 dash to the 99-00 and installed A/C, stereo, custom heated seats, and an alarm system with aftermarket power locks. I am planning to do a NA b20B (high compression 0bd2b). I picked up a automatic 99 civic si coupe which was going to be used as a build car but certain parts of it are in a little rougher shape than i'd like to bother repairing so it's going to be a donor car.
End goal:
-97 ek hatch with b20b running obd2b
-power windows, locks, mirrors, cruise control, sunroof (from parts car)
I know most people run obd1/0 but i'd like to keep the 0bd2 functionality whether it is a or b. It'd be easier to just swap the power locks windows etc and wire it in but i know the harnesses are different for 96-98 and 99-00. Also since the b20 is obd2b i was thinking it might be easier to swap the entire harness dash and engine so that everything is consistent. Due to the fact that the donor car is auto the cruise control is missing the clutch switch, and the gauge cluster has the PRND which i believe i can swap with my current one.
Questions:
Has anyone ever installed cruise control from a 99-00 auto into a 96-98 manual? Besides the clutch switch what else would i need to get that wouldn't be in in my donor car.
Is it possible to adapt the 99-00 power windows, locks, mirrors, sunroof, and cruise control wiring into the 96-98 harness.
Adivce:
-keep the OBD2a dash harness attempt to adapt the power options from the si into it
-Replace the OBD2a harness with the OBD2b harness from the automatic

Swap everything. The whole harness, except for what goes to the rear, although you might have to re-pin this connector. You'll also have to add the wiring for the rear wiper and MT clutch relay (ie., press it down to start wiring). Adding cruise will be easy, though to get it to work on your current D16y7 might mean you need to tap in to the vacuum lines instead of the nipple on the intake. No biggie. Remember, 99-00 and 96-98 wiring harnesses are quite different. Ensure that this Si harness will be compatible with the obd2b B-series (I think so).
Your sunroof swap is ... ambitious. Though it can be done. Since the coupe roofline is shorter, you need to cut your roof and weld it in. Also, you'll need to merge headliners, unless you get something imported from Europe/Japan/NZ.
