Default Power lock Does not work

1998 Honda civic sedan power lock does not work. When I press up or down I don't heard anything. Have factory alarm. It will arm but not lock.

It might be the power door lock actuator. Get one from Honda, take the door panel off and plug it in to try.

I've had that problem... Check, your switch, and check for a good ground before buying anything... I tapped the wire and ran my own ground to a bolt in the door and everyrthing has worked fine ever since...

first check the switch using a multimeter... There's 3 pins. I believe the center one is ground and one pin for unlock and the other for lock. touch one lead to one of the outer pins and another to the center pin. When you push the switch whichever way corresponds to the pin, it should read 0 ohms (a short)... That verifies the switch is good...

The fastest way to check for a good ground is to look at the harness for the power lock relay which is that blue box bolted to the driver's side door (you'll see it when you remove the interior door panel). Find the pin for ground which is usually black and take a piece of wire and shove it in the pin for ground and obviously ground the other end of the wire to any bare metal and try using the switch and see if it works then...

Check fuse #51 under the hood... It's a 20 amp fuse...

If you can get your locks to work through this test, then you need to buy a new relay/control box (the blue box).
