Default Possible new EG owner questions

I have a 2000 Si now and I am really trying to get away from the payments and insurance. I am now leaning toward a 92-95 coupe or hatch with b16/b18 swap.

My first question is how hard will the swap be? What all is needed. I was looking at a 88-91 B16A complete conversion for $1800 with less than 40K miles. That is not bad at all but i would like to know more about the swap. Anyone with a website or anything on details of a swap of this kind would be really appreciated!

Any suggestions or opinions would be really appreciated!

you don't want to swap 1st gen b16 into EG (cable clutch, less power, obd0), too much hasle and money, 2nd gen is easier. You can have a good looking b16 EG for like $5000, it will walk all over your SI.

Swaps are not hard as long as you got the tools, place to work in, and you know a thing or two about engines.

so what i need is a 92-95 b16 or b18 to make it alot easier?

I have the time and tools, and i think i can manage the swap myself. I am gonna keep this car as a "project" for a while, at least I plan to. I will be buying a bike too that is another reason I want to sell my Si but that way I will have another mode of transportation while I work on the swap!

I am looking to spend $3000-$5000 on the car and I should be able to find a decent coupe or hatch for that price!

Also the 92-95's have a OBD1 correct? So i could run a test pipe without O2 problems?

I'm assuming he was wanting to do that swap because it was so much cheaper.

Hmotorsonline.com is a good engine dealer, but you will regret it if you do the first gen b16.
