Possible to bench test used injectors????
Possible to bench test injectors yourself???
to check if the thing is good use???
okay i got a set of used intake manifold with a set of injectors.
i got a motorswap waiting to be dropped in my eg d16z6 motor
i just don't trust the injectors etc. with my new rebuild motor. i want to know that everything is prime when starting up my new rebuild engine. most of the parts are new except the injectors. bc i already spent my budget.
the injectors are look clean i cleaned them etc. but one injector looks diffrent from the rest looked like it has been changed.
planning on getting a set of o rings etc also.
is there a good way to test each injectors b4 i install it in my vehicle???
i cleaned it with brake clean and painted the metal middle exposed part.
looks like rc injectors. lol
but i want to know how to test it bench test by myself?
when i sprayed brake clean inside the injector it went right through???
does gasoline supposed to flow right through the injector when its out????
i still want to know how it if its good
i assume the injector supposed to hold pressure????? but it went right through the injector IDK???
yes or no????
bench testing help????

Re: Possible to bench test used injectors????
You can tap an injector to a 6V battery and listen for the click of it opening, but that only tells you if they're mechanically working. It doesn't tell you if they're throwing a proper pattern, or even flowing at their proper rate. There are a number of companies that will test and clean injectors. It's a relatively cheap procedure. That's the route I've always gone with unknown injectors.
What motor are you swapping to, and from what motor are you swapping? There's a good chance you don't even need to use those new injectors.

Of course, you have one of the three motors that use 190cc/min injectors. You'll need 220cc/min injectors.

Talk to those guys. Both have done good work for me in the past. They can clean and flow test your new injectors for you, so you'll know they work, they're throwing a good pattern, and what size they are.
