since my car is an eg (92 cx) with drum originally drums in the back, and now that im putting disc in the rear and my big brake kit in the front, shoould i put the poportioning valve from a dc or an si hatch(92-95 rear disc) on it???? lemme know fellas...

get a 40/40 off a integ DA that will work for rear disk.
Should cost ya around 40 bucks

I'm guessing you used DC rear discs? I'd use a DC prop valve if that's the case.

I'd do the the Master Cylinder at least, along with the Prop Valve. Depedning on the MC you choose, you may or may not need to swap to an Integra Brake Booster.

Integra's have a bigger MC (15/16"), but it won't fit on a Civic brake booster. The bolt on pattern is wrong, and it will only fit on the stock civic brake booster upside down.

If you get the Integra MC, you'll need to use an Integra Brake Booster.

Integra's do have a bigger brake booster though. It's a double bowl brake booster versus the single bowl brake booster that the Civic's have, so it's a good bit bigger in size than the civic one.

If you don't want to use the bigger integra booster, and are fine with the smaller civic brake booster, use a 91 Civic EX Master Cylinder. It's the same size MC as an Integra MC (15/16"), but it will fit correctly on the stock civic brake booster.

You can use them, but I don't recall if you need to do any bending to the brake lines or not. There's a DIY writeup on HT...check the FAQ in this subforum.

I have an extra 40/40 prop valve from my front/rear brake conversion. PM me if you need it.

if you say get the DA prop valve, how do i know which DA to get? i'm confused because i'm looking at parts at majestic honda and i'm not sure if it's a 40/40 or not. help

HTautodc, I think the OP got his brakes from a DC, so he should really should just get a 40/40 prop valve from a DC. Are you doing your own brake conversion?

it really doesn't matter. What does matter is that it can't come from a '98+ Integra, they use a completely different style prop valve (looks the same as a '96 - '00 civic prop valve) '94 - '97 Integra non abs is a 100% direct bolt on. '90 - '93 is the same but you will need to swap the bracket for the original civic unit.

Most Honda dealers' parts websites don't list Acura parts because they don't sell Acuras...they sell Hondas. You have to go to an Acura dealer's parts website.

umm, i dont get what 94EG8 said. what year should i get for my 93 sedan? i didn't know what car my rear disc brakes came from, but it already is installed. my 30/40 prop valve was then busted after a while, so i need to replace it

Do you have the larger Integra front discs or do you have the stock front discs? If they're stock, you shouldn't need the 4040...the stock prop valve should suffice...just find it from a 92-95 Civic DX. I think you only need to swap the prop valve when you swap the front discs for bigger brakes. If you do have big brakes up front, you need the 4040 prop valve. Depending on what year Integra you get it from, you may need to swap the mounting bracket for your original bracket so that it bolts up right. Make sure it's for a NON-ABS setup though.

i got the big front discs and rear discs from someone but also doesn't know which car came from. the brakes are direct bolt on. now i don't know what prop valve to buy. we just know the brakes came from japan. it could be either a DA, DC2, EG6, or EG9 (since those came with rear discs in japan, those with B16A's) or it could be from another car that i don't know. hmmm
