Default Pop sound

I have a 92 dx hatch and have had a b18c in it for a few days. I,ve put about 300 miles on it so far. Twice, at different times when I let off the gas I heard a kind of pop. It sounds almost like a cv joint when they are going out but this has only happened the two times. Another time was when I accelerated and let off then accelerated again. If I try to make the sound happen I can't. Is this something Accura drivetrains do? I jacked up the car today and spun the wheels by hand back and forth and there is nothing abnormal looking or sounding. Any ideas? Thanks.

I have the same problem. Sorry I can't help you out but I think it is something in the front suspension or engine mounts. You might want to check that they are tightened well. I've checked mine and haven't found anything.

Yeah, it could be a loose, or worn mount, and you might be hearing the motor shift backward under load, or maybe even the header tapping the block, if it's stressed by a shortened, or solid mounted exhaust. good luck

I have a DC 4-1 header into a test pipe into the stock exhaust for now. It sounds like it's coming from under the front of the car. Definatey not a backfire.

It's a CV joint. I jacked up the car and looked around and saw some grease inside my left front rim. Cleaned everything up and saw a small, quarter inch split in my CV boot. I shot some more grease in there and rigged up a temporary patch till I can replace it. The noise quit with the new grease.
