Re: (Malakai)
IIRC I read some article on D-series.org about a guy buying one of these and a tornado and testing them both.
The Tornado lost him 1-2hp, and the E-Ram electric supercharger gave him like 6hp below 4K, and -2hp above 4K, and whenever it was off it hurt his power all around.

Re: (instrument)
I'm going to skim through the ebay ad and find the key lines for you:
"If you need a boost and can't afford a real turbo or supercharger conversion, this product is for you. The Electric Supercharger is an adapter to either your short ram or cold air intake. It will work on absolutely any air intake brand including AEM, Injen, MimoUSA, Weapon R, Fujita etc. Simply remove your current air filter and put the Supercharger as a replacement, it's that simple.
The supercharger is operated on a 12-volt source. This means you can connect it to your battery to get the power. It uses 2.2 amps from your alternator when turned on and doesn't affect your car performance or battery drain. The Supercharger is connected to a switch inside the car. Whenever you need more power you simply flip the switch and fly away. It produces 250CFM of forced air into your manifold and it very quiet under the hood when turned on. In fact it has a nice aggressive sound, making it seem like you got something bigger then what you actually have under the hood."
Besides, aren't superchargers belt-driven? That's just a blow dryer installed on your intake to try and suck up some more air....
For that much money, you'd have better results with an actual K&N CAI.

Check out the Forced Induction FAQ. There is a link about these kinds of products. The short of it is this: they're complete garbage and can actually impede performance.

Re: (Schister66)
^^ true, and the reason they hurt performance when off is b/c the turbine blade or whatever is turn and is more of a restriction, its not straight through anymroe like a cai or short ram. The reason is helped low is b/c it could produce sufficient cfms to actually improve the effeciency or created a very very small (below 1 psi) amount of boost. The reason it hurt up to top is b/c it can no longer make enough cfm's to feed the engine and is now restrictive again. My buddy also had one on a dsm and he said it was junk.

Re: (Frickr)
The ones on ebay are just blower fans that don't make boost but i have seen some that can shoot full beer cans and crush empty cans.

Still the concept is a little ridiculous because they can't be run at idle and no air gets through them when there not on.
