Default poeple using washer trick for rear camber... read!

i know how to do it... just wondering if it changes for a car with rear disk brakes. going to do my gf's 4 door ex (95). wondering what thickness washers and how many per bolt to use. she has a 2" drop..and should i get a longer bolt as well...

front is corrected with ingalls....

3/4" Washers and 3 washers would be fine but if u want a little camber put 4

I'm saying that its good to have some camber, so you can still have some handling and I'm just saying if he wanted to have little camber so his tires won't wear as bad, then he could add and extra washer. And yes there will be more camber when you take off washers...

how much - camber do you still have. i dont want any positive on it... i had two behind each bolt on my old eh2 and it was lowered on coilovers... 1/8" gap on 16's... and it almost looked like it had positive camber...

alittle negative camber is better that positive imo... just dont want her tires wearing out on the inside. tring to do this tomorrow, so keep the responces coming.

i have two washers on both my cars, both lowered about 2.5"....main thing to do if you're concerned about wearing out the insides of the tires is to get an alignment after you lower it to get the toe set correctly.if you lower the car,and don't correct the toe,you will wear the tires out regardless of your camber adjustment.

yuo just put washer sunderneath part #17,between it and the chassis.

this ismply spaces the upper arm and top of the trailing arm out.

so is it common practice to do the camber correction when lowering? or is it one of those things you guys do, just to do? i have heard both ways, if you arent lowering more than like 2.5, dont worry about it, others say, any lowering, and you need too... i am planning on lowering about 1.8 around i think... would i need a camber kit and do the washer deal? sorry to jack the thread, just saves a new one from being started

no the washers go under the part to the left of the #17.bolt #25(there are actually two of them)goes through pat #17 and the washers, into the car chassis.

you put the washers behind part number 17, which bolt # 25 goes through.

No you put it behind the bolts that attach to the body of the car

it is good practice to do an alignment on it and also if you know the person doing the alignment they do have special washers designed to go behind there for specific thickness needed.

so you wouldn't need to get an alignment at shop if you do the washer trick? because i heard you have to if you get a camber kit

i put two washers per bolt on each side but i think it needs more or get a better alignment because the the inside of my rear tires are starting to look funny

Not because thier worn or anything, the tread is still there but it looks different then the rest of the tire.

You should always have an alignment done any time you mess with the suspension.

ditto. why try to guess with washers? get an alignment, and know exactly where your setting are.
