I can't figure out how PM someone...can someone explain to me how? I tried to look around for threads that may help and searched but couldn't come up with anything

there's a button that says IM on the left side of the screen under the users name and right below the year that they signed up

So say someone IM's me, and I'm logged on but not on HT. Does it just pop up when i visit HT? an IM from march 1st just popped up a sec ago when I IM'ed someone
