93 hatch cx with a Dx motor...couple troubles need assistance.

1st: going up on a hill in about 35 or 40 MPH 3rd gear but once i tried to go 4th gear check engine lights comes on.

2nd: when headlight is off side blinkers work fine, blinks normal. but when you turn the headlight on, the driver side blinkers turns too with the headlight at the same time on and blinks extra fast... but passenger stays normal blink at atll times.

what could those 2 things be??? its really frustrating!!!

heres a little story with the car:

car was bought cheap from a private seller. the seller told us that car has been stolen 2 twice. since the cx motor wasnt working good, a friend of my had a DX motor, i believe its a 92 so we decided to put the motor in since it was just gonna a daily driver car nothing special. we made sure everything is hooked up. and now im having this trouble. do you think the wiring could be missed up since it was stolen twice then?

I think all he means is when its going uphill at about 35-40mph, then tries to upshift to 4th, he gets the CEL when he shifts into 4th.

Does the CEL stay on? If so try to pull it, here is how: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=682412 Very good video on how it works too.

The fast blinking is probably because its a bad bulb. Try replacing it with the pass. side one. If the problem is still going on then go out and look around to see if the back and front are blinking fast too. If there going fast then you have a short somewhere.

1. Try going to 2nd. 4th will be too much compression and if you are in a state of disrepair your car is going to complain. Dont hit fourth uphill until after 60 or 70 mph.

2. Blinker relays have fast mode in them to tell you to fix a lamp or a short circut before you get pulled over. Sometimes you just have to jiggle the lamps in the socket if they are not dead and the realy will blink normal like.
