PLEASE HELP... What seats are compatible for a 1992 Honda Civic Sedan???
I've got a 1992 Honda Civic Sedan and was handed over to me from my father-in-law (it was just sitting in their driveway for 2 year and not being used)...
Both front seats are in pretty bad shape, especially the drivers seat.... it's torn and the springs are shot...
I went to the junk yard today, but they don't have the exact same seats that I have, but they do have other Hondas that have pretty decent seats... There were a few early 90 Civics, but they were hatchbacks and coupes and they also had a few Integras and Accords from the mid-90's... The seats were in great shape, but I wasn't sure if they would fit my Civic Sedan....
They were selling them pretty cheap too... $30 Canadian each...
Thanks for the help!

The del Sol's don't exactly "bolt-in."
You have to swap the rails/etc off the Civic seat onto the del Sol seat. It's not hard or anything, but they don't plop right in there like 94-01 Integra seats do.

Yeah... bascially this car needs alot of work...
It has about 340,000 kilometers on it and the engine was rebuilt last year... but whoever did the rebuild did a crappy job... The engine sounds really loud, I can smell fuel in the oil, the auto tranny is slipping at 3rd gear, rear wheel wells are rusting out...
Bascially, this is a work car for me as I have a 2003 Honda Pilot EXL... but I would like to get the Civic looking and running decent again...
I've already replaced the brake pads and shoes, replaced the waterpump as it was leaking... replaced the front springs as one of them popped out of the base...
I'm debate on if I should just replace the engine & tranny with one from the junker that has low milage...
Oh, I also need to replace my rack n pinion as the boot is torn right off and leaking AT fluid... Then there's the oil pan that needs replacement as the last person who did the oil change when my father-in-law had it, stripped the bolt threads...
And then there's the AC, which has a leak and needs to be refilled after repairs...
hmmm... anyone know of any automobile assassinators that can take care of this Civic so that I can collect some insurance money...

Re: (red-n22)
You can get a full D16Z6 swap, which has 125 hp for right around 500 bucks.
If you want some EK seats for just shipping, you'll have to swap your EG rails onto them, but you can have them for shipping. They're just taking up space in my room.

Sorry for the delay in reply, but that "5 posts/24 hours" for new members really sucks...
Anyways, thanks for the offer Ricey McRicerton... But I think the shipping costs to Canada would be extremely high due to the weight and size of the seats... Meanwhile, I've seen seats in very good condition at the junkyard here... And they're selling them for only $30 CND each...
What color are the seats that you have anyways?
Also, what do the abbreviations EK, EG... mean?

EK is the JDM chassis code for 96-00 civic hatchbacks.... and EG is the JDM chassis code for 92-95 Civic hatchbacks. most people refer to EG as any 92-95 civic and EK as any 96-00. cuz it is the JDM thing to do y0!

No, most people refer to them as eg, ek, dc etc because thats the chassis code of the car, and an easier way to recognise the car than going by years. For example some eg civic's were released in 1991, while they were still making ef's, same with da's and dc's in 1993.
Anyway, I've got dc seats in my eg, way better than standard eg seats and they were pretty cheap too (1/10th the price of ITR recaro's).

Not sure about 92-95 coupes as we dont get them here but ... with EG sedan seats, 3 of the bolts are on an incline whilst the one at the back left (if you are sitting in the drivers seat) bolts flat on the floor. If im not mistaken the hatch seat bolts are all on an incline arent they?
