Default Please help, what is the maximum wheel/tire size I can fit? THANKS FOR YOUR HELP!!

Hi everyone, I am thinking about getting new wheels for the summer and have a chance to get 18's but thought they may be too big. What is the largest wheels you have seen on an EG? The tire dimensions are 215 - 35 - 18 and he thinks they are 18x7 but they may be 18x8.5(very unlikely). I would just try them on the car but my brother lives 3 hours away and thought I may ask you guys for some clearance help before making the trek. I dont want to see him if I dont have too. I have an Omnipower setup if it matters but my car is not lowered since I mainly just bought the coilovers because my stock struts went out. Anyways, I appreciate any help you guys might be able to provide!

They'll fit - assuming the car never moves. If you lower it over 1.5 inches you'll be rubbing the outter wheel well, and any time your suspention compresses a good deal at even moderate speed, you'll risk ripping the plastic of the wheel well out. My friend had an eg coupe with an LS lowered 2", with 215/40's on 17x7's he always rubbed the wheel well, and DID have the fronts ripped out a few times. 18's on an eg looks ghetto IMO, 17's look big, and 16's are jsut right for an eg.

i've got 17's 40/215 I wouldn't go bigger, the way it is now, it's almost too high just because i can't lower it to he point the chassis is close to the ground with out the wheels rubbing.

If you want bigger than those wheels/tires you'll want airbags or hydros. I'ts just not enough wheel well for bigger.
