Please help, slight whine noise when adding throttle, but sounds differant in engine bay...
I do not notice when driving around, but as I reversed, slightly adding throttle, there was a slight whine noise. So I popped the hood, noise is coming from timing belt area but its not whining. Its more of a gurgling/knocking... like using a wooden spoon to stir in a glass cup.
What do you guys think?
What are the symptoms of a timing belt tensioner going bad? Its sort of like a growl in the engine bay but its definitely a slight whine when adding throttle in the car.

check the alternator belt, and then listen to your valve train cuz if its nockin then you have bent valves

use a stethascope? to pinpoint the noise. you can buy one @ a parts store, or @ harbour frieght for cheap.
no sense in replacing stuff that might not fix it.

It doesn't happen anymore... only once.
Yes thats what I said, a glass cup with a wooden spoon stirring around. My water pump is brand new, although not OEM, it was the top grade OE replacement. Should I still worry about it? I notice that my engine is very hot but the coolant temperature is fine. The heat from the heater is insanely hot when maxed if that makes a difference.
I took it to my mechanic who did the work, no noise, except for the ticking/rattling/static noise I had from the swap. Could this "fm static" noise be caused by a faulty water pump? I've had a different mechanic who thinks it might be injectors so he swapped my B16 with the Y8, same thing.
