Default PLEASE help me identify this distributor (part numbers)

PLEASEEE
Car is a 97 dx with a crx head(previous owner)

But the Cardone 84-17420 distributor I bought does not fit in the cylinder head hole(too big)

So I look up a 97 EX distributor, same part number,,, up next moved to a 2000 ex distributor but the plug is different. I am really stuck here =(

Please help me find out what I have =(

I Took a measurement of the part that goes inside of the cylinder head on a micrometer and got 1.258" (This is the one that fits my cylinder head)

Look on the head where the exhaust manifold bolts up it has four little circles one by each port. the farthest to the passenger side is the year its from, that may rule out crx if its 92+. And is that the only plug on it you pictured? It doesnt look like the one on my crx (90). You said its a 97 if i remember (i cant go look on phone app) if so thats gonna be an obd2 car isnt it? Which would rule out crx again unless your car has been changed over. Can u post a pic of the numbers or post the numbers on your old one?

That part that goes in the head is the same diameter on all '88 - '00 D-series heads, in terms of what fits what head there are only two different bolt patterns: OBD1 Vtec/vtec-e and everything else.

Bolt pattern fits but the actual hole in the head is too small

It's possible you got one that was made wrong, but that was the correct distributor for the head.

Have you tried rotating the dizzy shaft 180 degrees. The part that mates with the camshaft is offset so that it can only be inserted in one way(the correct way).

I have tried to rotate it, it literally is hung up on the cylinderhead. I can feel the aluminum to aluminum bind.
