Which pistons would be the best for a 11.2:1 c/r on my y8?
I'm thinking about getting some new pistons and using ARP rod bolts for my y8. I have a zex stg 2 cam and I want to feel what it has to offer, however; I don't have the money for boosting right now and I like N/A anyway But my question is, what would be the best pistons for me to get around a 11.2:1 to 11.6:1 c/r. I still want to use pump gas. I was thinking the p29's at 1st but they give me like a 13.1:1 c/r and I don't want to go that high. Then I thought about the a6 pistons but they only bring me to around 10.3:1 and I don't know if I'd really feel that or not. I didn't really want to have to spend the money on aftermarket pistons but I might have to. Is there any other Honda interchangeable pistons I could use? If not, what would be the best aftermarket ones for under $300 that I can use my y8 rods with. One more question and I'll leave it alone cause I know this is long lol. Will it be safe to push that kind of compression with my stock y8 rods with ARP rod bolts?

Can't you drop in new pistons by just dropping the oil pan? If you can then I don't want the p29 pistons because I don't feel like taking off the head lol. I just had it apart a month or 2 ago when I was installing the cam and valve springs. I might just have to find some 11.5:1 CP pistons...how's that sound?

that's gay lol...but whatever has to be done. I still don't want to have to buy a new head gasket...although that might be good considering I wouldn't need to change it again later. I dunno though. I still may just go with some Crower or CP pistons that bump me to 11.5...its going to be hard to tune with p29s

Re: (d16EK)
does cp make a 11.5 piston? i didn't see one on the site. but it might be easier to play around with head gasket thicknesses, find someone on here with a compression calculator, unless you got one, and figure out what will work, or you can always get a custom made piston

Re: (Civicse)
that might get a little costy lol. I'll just search around for pistons. I might play with the head gasket and use p29's. Not sure yet. Just seeking some advice (thanks so far by the way man). Will it be safe to use my y8 rods with the p29's as long as I use ARP rod bolts? And my y8 pins work, right?
