Default Piston Slap ? Collapsed lifter? Worn out camshaft lobe?

Hi folks, my 99 civic (NON VTEC, where i live civics didnt come with vtec) has 167 000 miles, and it has been having a loud ticking or knock sound when cold startups, Then when it gets to full operating temperature it fully goes away. It doesnt have any loss of power and i already adjusted the valve lashes. Do you hace any clues? is piston slap/collapsed lifter common problems on these civics ? Also if my civic doesnt have hydraulic lifter is a collapsed lifter posible?

These cars do not have lifters. This is a direct lobe to rocker arm setup.

Piston slap is possible as the piston become out of round.

As long as the sound is going away with engine coming to temp, I wouldn't worry about it. Once it no longer goes away with engine temp, then look into rebuilding or new motor etc.

A video of the noise would help. Could be a few different things.

If the engine feels healthy and it goes away once it's warmed up, it's probably not super critical/immediate.

Thanks for the replys guys, well i didnt have a clue that these didnt have lifters haha, im sorry for that, so basically the problem may be wornout lobes and piston slap? , what about some loose rocker arm?
¿What can i check when i remove the valve cover off?

Here a video i uploaded of the sound it does when cold :

Thanks for the video.

Noise does sound like it's coming from the block. Most likely it's ring tolerances/piston slap, which is going away when the rings expand at operating temperature.

I wouldn't worry about it unless you start losing power, or notice that you're burning a lot of oil. Just keep an eye on it.
