Ok im currently rebuilding an LS (B18B1) motor as a temporary
my questions are:
1. Is there a way to remove the PISTON PIN without the use of any hydraulic tools?

2. If yes/no, Does anyone have any experience running PR3 pistons w/ PR4 rods in an LS, and what other modifications are necessary in doing this; considering everything is stock?

All responses/opinions/tips/criticism/recommendations/experiences are welcome!!

P.S. I've searched literally everywhere on this topic, if you find a link regarding this for a HONDA, I will be really embarrassed!

A hydraulic press works most of the time but there is a chance of breaking something. I don't think you can do it without a press or heating it up really good. I always wanted to try and find an easier way but i doubt there is. I was gonna try freezing the pin so it contracts and see if it can be pushed out easier.

You have to use a press... Its why theyre called "pressed pin" pistons

damnn i wish honda could have tha snap rings holding tha pin in like nissan does

stock honda pins need to be pressed out but i've heard that after market ones have a pin that holds everything together.

ok so far, i asked an old man and he said my pistons are aftermarket beacuse there was space between tha rod and piston across tha length of tha pin, but my argument was no way, because both parts both say pr3

could aftermarket parts use those numbers on their parts

Why dont you just look for pictures of oem piston and rod sets for comparison.....?

Then theyre factory Honda pistons.

you probably didn't find anything when you were looking for Piston Pins because they're actually called WRIST PINS.

ive looked for pictures from my service manual and other websites with pictures, and tha pins look jus like little round cylinders. i expected like a groove or something in tha center, but nothing! ah

oh and i searched for "piston pins" "wrist pins" "rod to piston connecting pins" jus about everything

i just put b18b pistons in my b16 and you do have to take em to get pressed.

they charged me 8 each piston they put it on (4*8=36)
i havnt got the motor together yet but should be sweet
im actually doing pr3 rod w pr4 piston for turbo.
but it should be sweet.
but i left the ls rods empty if i woulda got the cracked ones put on em(woulda been stupid) it woulda been 36 more

I got my type r pistons pressed for free by graves in cali. They did it in front of me in like 3 mins.
