Re: Pics of my del Sol (def jux)
Thanks! Actually, its not quite as squeaky clean as it appears, though its not far off. Just a lot of elbow grease, patience and a relatively new motor swap!

Wish I had that kind of motivation.

Re: Pics of my del Sol (hondabadboy)
CaptainJDM...... Yeah, its taken a while, but I've had the car for 4 1/2 years, so over time all those hurt fingers paid off. I have noticed that there's a hell of a lot of sharp edged crap under the hood of a Honda!
hondabadboy......the only body kit I'm remotely interested in is the one that was a factory option (at least in the UK).
I am attempting to keep the car subtle in appearance. I know the wheels are a bit of a giveaway, but I wasn't keen on the stock style.

More pics.....just a couple more ;-)
ITR rear sway bar in the top one, along with Beaks SRKII. Progress competition coilovers just visible.

Re: Pics of my del Sol (def jux)
def jux.....yeah, I had it a little lower before when I had 17s (ugh!). I could go back down about 5-10mm. I have a camber kit in the garage I have still to put in too, but I need to do that before I lower again. I have a 100 mile commute (each way!) every day and have to have my camber sorted out so I don't kill tires too fast.
I have all my family in the UK, so I am hoping I can get that OEM kit at some point. Chances are its way better quality than crappy old fiberglass!! One thing I would like to do it a c/f hood, if Benen or someone ever makes a high quality unit for the del Sol. However, I think I'd end up painting it to match the car (or paint the car black and leave the c/f as it comes). Believe me those pics don't show the road rash I have from 100k+ miles!! I need paint pretty bad on the front, but with that 1000 mile a week commute, I'll just wait until that gets better!

Re: Pics of my del Sol (99MilanoRedSi)
i say, buy a beater for work. buy another del sol or a crx, and just use it for work, and mod it for fun. keep the hybrid on a low milage diet.
theres no need to dog ur del sol that way with 1000k a week. jeez

Re: Pics of my del Sol (def jux)
Actually I will be looking at another (additional) car anyway, just for the commute. I am pretty tired of hauling **** from Home Depot in the del Sol, and I need something with more room so I will look at (gulp) small SUV's....eg Land Rover Freelander, Ford (shudder) Escape, etc. The 1000 mile weekly commute is only for a little over a year or so, then we're moving elsewhere. Hopefully by then I'll be VP research and development with the one company in Houston and open up shop wherever it is I end up. I can deal with 3-4 hours a day for $120k

Re: Pics of my del Sol (Mr. JDM)
Technically......
the original motor (D16Z6) from the "Si" del Sol model was the SOHC VTEC. The DOHC VTEC B16A2 I have now was offered in the "VTEC" del Sol model in 96-97, and the B16A3 was offered in 94-95. My B16A2 came from a 99 Civic Si.
So, yeah you're right. Its a swap, but the del Sol Si did have a VTEC mechanism.
