Also, need advice..... should I spend the money to powdercoat, or DIY paint these *******? I picked up a second set, severely scratched up ( from sand paper ) from a guy who planned on having them HPC'd and never did. Should I DI-myself or shell out $60 a tire for the powdercoat????

imo, i don't think it is really worth it to powdercoat some $300'ish stock wheels. my buddy took his Z-Speed's (RnR look-a-like) to a commercial powdercoating business (wheels are not their specialty) and that alone already costed him $200! so imagine going to a specialty shop....$$$$. plus, on top of that you will have to dis-mount the tires prior, and then re-mount and balance afterwards...it all adds up to a nicer set of wheels...and possibly cheaper!

As I said above, I picked up a second set cheap... and 250 bones isn't expensive to have rims powdercoated... well, not to me... I am not rich but it seems like a reasonable price to pay, especially being a mainlander in Hawaii.

don't paint them... I powder coated my 97 GSR's black and they look almost new. I sanded the old scratches/curb marks down and just cleaned them up before the coating. they charged $27 per wheel and imo it's worth every penny.
