Default Performance street tires for 13" steelies?

Does anyone make such a thing? I would like to auto-x and daily drive on them, and I have a set of 13" steelies that are a lot lighter and cheaper than 14's. I'm looking for an affordable alternative to new wheels/tires for my cx. Thanks.

Bump. I'd like some opinions as well. Thinking about getting some 13's (VX's are 13" I think) and putting some good low profile tires on for further gear reduction. And I'm not talking about those tires and wheels Mexicans have on their rides.

You could run a 175/50/13 if the rim width was 5-6 inches I believe. I think the cx steelie is only 4.5, so I'm not sure if it would work. I wanted to run the Yokohama A008G. You can find it at tire rack for $64 a piece. I believe this tire is/was a variant of an auto-x tire designed for the mini cooper.

If you do a tire size search at tire rack for 175/50/13, the yoke a008g's come up...but I don't know

thanks for all the replies. I'll look for reviews on some of those tires. I searched tire rack and couldn't find anything. Thanks again.

A lot of tires in the 195/60/13 size as well.

Yoko A032R's 175/ 60 13, 21.4 inches tall.
Yoko A008G's 175/ 50 13, 20 inches tall.
Take your pick.
175/ 50 could cause ground clearance probs.
