Check the stickes at the top of the forum, there's alot of helpful information in there.

What power goals are you looking to achieve? Engine parts work together as a package.

for $4k, go with a turbo kit and have it dyno & street tuned. Power and reliability. (provided your tuner is good)

It's simply b/c there's so many idiots that slap a FI build together untuned and wonder why they have pistons sticking out of the block a week later.

If you're going for 250whp then you might as well use forged internals and stay safe. 250whp is high for a B16 stock internals. Usually 180-220 is a good safe zone (maybe 230, 240 if dyno tuned) on a good tune. If you're going as high as 250 you might as well get forged internals and run 350 with bigger injectors and pump (simply by cranking up the boost after a tune).

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by onefastx &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">for starters i just did a jdm b16 swap into my 93 delsol and im bored i want more power im thinking cams supercharger ecu flash anyone who could give me some feedback as to what works well together or ideas i would appreciate it</TD></TR></TABLE>

A supercharger almost acts as natural aspiration. It gives a very solid tq. curve unlike a turbocharger which has to spool up. Though I wouldn't recommend it for a B16. It's a 1.6L engine so it doesn't have that much tq. to begin with. Superchargers are good on bigger engines where the rotational mass of the supercharger's belt doesn't put too much stress on it, on a B16 it's like having the AC on, then adding your 8lbs of boost or so. Turbos are spun by exhaust fumes - they don't add any stress to the motor's function.

Basically what I'm saying is 10lbs on a turbo will get you further than 10lbs on a supercharger assuming they're the exact same size. The tq. curve won't be as strong on the turbo until it spools up, but the end result will be noticeably higher.

So with that said, it comes back to the very obvious questions:
- What are your goals? (power wise, 250 at the wheels?)
- What's the car's usage? (daily driver, weekend driver, show car, etc.)
- How much do you have budgeted for upgrades (speaks for itself)

its a dd and this is just the kind of info im looking for in basics i need more so if 200whp is more reasonable i will shoot for that like i said 4000 is it for now and that is max and i have the manifold already so what else would i need to make these numbers safely

300-350whp is completely safe on a b16 with the right combination of parts and good tuning

With that budget? Ha. You can build a FI wonder .

Go with a mid-size turbo such as a DSM eclipse/talon turbo or saab turbo. The T3/4 would also work good here but is a bit bigger, that's fine though. Piece together a turbo kit.

Or buy one direct from Greddy. You can buy one brand new (entire setup) for your motor for 3,245. Not what I would do but always open as a suggestion.

I would piece together your kit, just get all the components used, shop around, you should be able to piece one together for around 1500 - 2k bucks.

You can run 200whp safely on a dyno tune. Run a P28 chipped ECU with a tuning program (I suggest crome). You'll have plenty left over for the tune. You can have it tuned relatively conservatively (like a 12.3AF) so there's a very very low chance of slinging a rod. You could probably run 220 or so if you have it dyno tuned. You could even ask the dyno tuner what he would recommend, they usually see quite a few turbo honda builds.

So you do that, you could probably come out, assuming 2000 for the turbo build, installation is easy and can be done by yourself. Maybe 450, 600 (as most shops charge 150/hr and it usually takes 3 or 4 hours to tune) for the tune. Then you can run that power daily w/o a high chance of ******* the engine up, you can pound on it, make good #'s, and that'll be that.
