part out question
i'm parting out my hatch soon and i just have a few questions about what i'm doing.
the car is a 1994 civic cx hatch and it has a b18c1 swap in it.
i want to part out the motor/trans from the car. what exactly needs to go with it to call it a "complete b18c1 swap"? my understanding is i need to include the motor, trans, shift linkage, and axles. am i correct?
my second question is what's a fair asking price for the "complete b18c1 swap"? the motor burns some oil up top and i'm not sure if it's coming from the piston rings or valve seals. is $2000obo a fair asking price? i looked online and i'm finding prices as high as $3000 for a complete swap.
thanks in advance

2000 sounds like a good price... since h motors is asking 2500 for one, but that includes a warranty as well... and one that doesnt burn oil...
i think that 2000 is a fair asking price

I'd assume that the "complete swap" comes with the engine, transmission, ECU, shiftlinkage, driver's side mount, and the rear mount bracket. Also all the sensors that are attached to the engine, and at least the intake manifold as well (if not the exhaust manifold too). If you have no use for the axles after parting it out, you might as well include those as well. But I'd hope most people would buy new ones anyways (unless they are cheap).
$2,000 sounds like a reasonable price to me. But with the burning oil thing, personally I wouldn't pay more than $1,500-1,800. Especially if the owner didn't know exactly what the issue was. That's just my opinion.
