I have not been able to get to the bottom of this...

I have a distributor on a d16y7 dx engine code is TD-80U

Is this the same as a d16y8 engine and if not what is the vtec distributor code?

I have heard that the TD-80U is used in 96-2000 ex,dx,lx,etc and there is no other distributor for a sohc-v engine.

Please help

The 96-2000 SOHC distributors are the same whether it is Vtec or Non.

So there is not one difference between the y8 and y7 at all then.

Is the code for this distributor TD-80U?

Not sure on that code exactly, but they all have the same part number.
