How good a paint job do you want?

I got in a wreck and got the whole sol shot granada black pearl again.

Cost me 600 bucks for the whole doors, top, rear end and spoiler. The hood, bumper, and front fenders were replaced cus of the wreck so I dont know how much it costs to get them painted.

Wasnt too bad a job, it was done at a self owned shop and not a crappy chain store, like maaco.

my friend painted his car for 400, had it for 3-4 years and still glossy with no paint chipping no runs or anything, reason why so cheap is because his dad got the hookups on it

Depends on who you know, and if you know nobody, then you get what you pay for, full color change I'd expect nothing short of $1500 for a basic color. Knowing people helps out a ton though. My hatch is getting painted for cost of materials plus a couple hundred

yeah, id like to know too. wheres b18c5 eh2?

Id figure it to be around 3 grand for a sandblast and color change right? And maybe 1000 more for dent removal at a PDR shop?

Does it really make a difference who you get it painted at?

im not sure, but i think paintless dent removal is less than 1g in most cases, i would expect $500 for a few big ones.

and yes it does matter who does it, i got my car painted(not color changed) like 2 years ago at a pretty respectable body shop, it cost $2000, and when it came out of the shop it looked decent, like it was from the factory, but i dont think they did enough coats of paint or clear. it just doesnt have a nice shine now and it seems to scratch easily, it doesnt have enough depth when you look into it either which is my biggest complaint. in other words, it didnt hold up as well as a factory paint job, and ill be getting it redone this summer.
i might actually try to do it mysef, i have an air compressor, and a bunch of old body pieces i can learn on, i would be able to do the whole car/interior/engine bay for less than $1000 and nobody would take better care of my car than me, but it will take a solid 2 weeks of my time im sure.
you gotta ask to see cars that the shop has already repainted... before you let them do yours. i didnt, and it's gonna cost me in the long run.
