I like the factory finish on those things(even though I don't like chrome). I had a set of 95 gsrs I painted...it looked good but I got sick of them quick.

paint???
paint isn't exactly durable for rims....
i got my 00 si's powder coated glossy black for 100 bucks
it looks reeaaalllly nice , i get a lot of compliments
if you live in the bay area, there is a place in hayward that does powder coating on the side, real nice job and he doesnt charge 400 like everyone else (hint he does it on the side)
look in the yellow pages under powdercoating, its called armor gaurd powder coating
there i gave away my secret
any tire shop will take off your tires and valve stems for like 10 bucks

I powdercoated my 2001 GSRs flat black. I have to scan a pic of them. I'll try to get that. I got the rims and tires w/ 2000 miles on them for $300 at American Tire Co. The powdercoating cost about $100. Not that bad of an investment and they look tight.

I wouldn't touch them. If you leave them as is, you can always sell them. As you know, there's a pretty good demand for those wheels.
If you go painting them then you've cut the resell value in half - if you're lucky. If you're really dead-set on changing them, get them powdercoated. It will look better and be much more durable.
That, however, will cost you money. I assume that's what you're trying to avoid. Hell, you could sell the wheels and get enough to pick up a set of Rota's or something similar for the same money. Maybe even have some cash left over if you're lucky.
