You should read the ecu thread stickied to the top of the forum. Its in there, but regardless heres a pic of how there different internally.

you can't tell just by looking at the picture.
"take a look at the following jumpers in the lower right hand corners of the ECU,
RP17 and RP18 values:
Auto to Manual:
remove RP17 and RP18
replace RP18 with a jumper wire"
this is from the ecu thread, this is how your able to tell from auto - manual, and make the change.

what does the 10th jumper look like on a manual ecu? R13? is there a jumper on it? Its cut off in that picture.
