omg im trying to get my inspection sticker and i cant figure out why this code wont go away on my 96 civic D16Y7

i've taken the IAC thing off the back of the manifold and cleaned it inside and out still giving me the DTC

ive taken the throttle body off and cleaned that inside and out with sensors still giving me the DTC

ive done the thing where i leave the 3 wire plugged in and the 2 wire not and still giving me DTC and vice versa

I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO ANYMORE I CANT SLEEP AT NIGHT lol (i really cant)

your trying to fix the mechanical side of the valve, the code is set becuase of a problem electrically, i dont know what car or engine you have, but assuming its a 2 wire sensor, which they usually are, get a multimeter, and set it to ohms and measure the plug on the sensor, while its disdconected fromt he harness, measeure the sensor, NOT the harness, and let me know what you get. tis probably open circuit.

well its a 97 civic with D16Y7

so i get a multimeter and measure the IAC thing not the plug?

so what if it is open circuit? what are solutions to this problem???

okay, if you measure the harness, you risk damaging the ecm, as a resistence measurement has to pass current to measure resistence, and that damages ciomputers, unless you have a high impedence unit like a fluke 88 meter, but anyways, you are supposed to measure the valve itself, ti is a solenoid, which is a coil of fine wires, these wires create magnetism, which react to the solid magnet in the valve pintle. this reaction moves the pintle, when the valve is good, it moves the pintle, when its bad electrically, usually on open circuit, meaning it cant pass electricity through it at all, which means no magnetic reaction. which means no idle correction. so if its open circuit or high resistence, then it wont work, let me know what year make and model and weather or not you have a stock motor. i i will look up the [proper resuistence.
