P1457 Evaporative Emissions (EVAP) Control System Leakage (EVAP Canister System)
Help,
Keep getting the Engine Check Light on. Even after replacing the EVAP Canister, EVAP Canister Value, Vaccum Module, Gas Cap and 2 different hoses. When you start the 2000 Honda Civic EX up and go down the highway at 65 MPH and put on 2 - 3 miles the Engine Check Light will come on. Take it to my local mech. and the Error code is P1457 on the computer. Which reads Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Control System Leakage (EVAP Canister System). Also how many miles do have to drive the car inorder for the computer to clear after the Check Engine Light has been cleared?

if your mechanic cleared the code and it still comes on after a while of driving then there is still something wrong with your evap. system. go back to your mechanic
