Ok guys, a couple of you know me and how gay it was of me to put a USDM d15b7 swap into my del sol....im poor sry . Here's my thing.... I want a nice engine in my car, nice accel, good mileage, good performance, good HP...etc...but not enough $$$. What i do have is my old d15b7 engine that dosnt work, dunno why it dosnt work but ill list out what was going on w/ it

It woudl occasionally start, but #2 cylinder never fired, took out spark plugs and there was oil all over them. Had a mechanic look at it and he said blown rings...so i guess thats it!!! But then after a while it would just never turn over, it would crank but thats it...any other things?? and how to fix???

ok, now what else could i do to my old D15b7 to make it perform better than a stock? Im planning on droping like $3-400 tops for performance sooo any ideas?

spend the $400 on a d15b vtec and a z6 or y8 tranny,
you'll be waaayy happier

I have a d15b vtec swap in my cx hatch,
and it is fast, and for a sohc, really fast!
I've beaten cars with twice the HP and torque as me

Heres what I payed
d15b vtec longblock: $300
y8 tranny: $150
type R exhaust, restrictions removed, 2.5" axleback to 2.5" muffler, 2.25" carsound cat: $200
3" intake to stock airbox with KN dropin and no resonator: $65(KN dropins are bank!!)
spankin mustangs with an N/A 1.5L: priceless

hmm, seems like it may do good, but i dont know if i could find a JDM d15 motor around here....ill look into it...any other suggestions?

lol maybe off the line,but 20 bucks says ill blow your doors off from 0-120

we have tons of jdm d15b vtecs in the shop, 495 takes it, the longblock. if you feel like takign a trip up to nyc u can come and check them out urself.

Hey Tad, just curious.. what are you running in the 1/4 mile with that setup? Sounds like a pretty nice street SOHC setup. I used to hit 15.8-15.9 in my EX Coupe with a stock D16Z6.

hmm, where in NYC? and what comes on the blocK? just the block or like exaust and intake mani, tb, distributor, cylinder head , vtec solenoid, etc?
and would you maybe want to throw a tranny in that for $500? cuz if not i can get a full d16y8 w/ tranny for $700. Also, would you be interested in a trade for an older d15 to help lower the price a lil?
