Outer window molding issue 2000 Civic
Finally got around to replacing these moldings: (Illustration 1)
And I honestly had a tough time trying to get the molding to fit lengthwise into the slot. Now, it appears I almost need to trim the end of the molding to get it to fit into the outer panel.
And here's my problem:
It appears that water would be leaking into my door panel. Suggestions?

Apparently they're supposed to leak. A bodyman told me years ago that when it rains the water runs right though the door and out the drain holes

Basically: I'm a re-re If you look at the Majestic Honda Parts picture the narrow end is even facing the front of the car.
Once I get my inner moldings in next week I'll make a write up since this question seems semi-frequent and I'm not aware of a detailed write up.

I did my inners like you stated not side specific.
When you did the outers, what do you have to remove to get them to side on? Does the window have to up or down? Does the outer molding Figure 2 on your upper pic have to be removed first?

Re: Outer window molding issue 2000 Civic
Window has to be down, or at least I can't imagine doing it up.
There's a special tool to use for unclipping the green clips that hold the molding on, though I wouldn't worry about breaking the old ones. I managed to do it without the tool and only broke one of the 8 little clips. 4 big clips, each with 2 smaller clips comprising the total clip.
If you're careful and roll it away from the car you shouldn't have any trouble.
I must say they look a lot better
