Default omni coilovers? skunk 2

im thinking of purchasing a set of omni c.o. and the seller tells me that the springs rates 450f & 350b and i will be getting some kyb agx pertty soon too. If im correct kyb wont be able to take spring rate that omni offers. He told me that he can do a 6k which i dont know what it means(i emailed him about it but no response yet) which he said it will equal 336 spring rate all around. The seller offered me a deal if i purchase a set of omni c.o. and a set of front camber kit. Didnt omni work for skunk 2 or something like that...Does anybody have these coilovers or camber kit well im more interested in the c.o. thanks!

I ran those exact rates on kyb agx's for a while
(450lb front 350lb rear).

the agx's did end up wearing out,
they never blew completely,
but I think I had em for like.. maybe 8-11 months... something like that.. less than a year but more than half a year.

basically what happened was the rears stopped dampening as well as they did stock,
setting 4 acted more like setting 2
and if you'd manually push the piston in, it would take forever to come back out.
didnt really leak much if any oil, mAAYYYbE a lil residue..
fronts were still pretty good though.

i'm pretty sure most of the damage was done due to riding around with not enough suspension travel(dropping it too low).
I did eventually get more travel(got benen modified upper strut mounts and the front shocks dropped into the fork more).

that was plenty of travel, but that was towards the end of my ownership of the shocks.
and the improvement with the added travel was still VERY good.

i'd say, you could probably rock those springrates if you did those mods I mentioned to start out with, or just didnt drop your car too much.
basically its not the height you need to be worried about. you just have to be aware of how much travel you have and make sure you have enough.

I think illuminas may be a bit sturdier than the agx's, but not by much, and they are more expensive.

but seriously, koni's are superior.
thats what I switched to.

btw,
the KG and lbs thing is simple,
just multiple the K # by 56 and you'll get your lb's.

so if they're 8k springs, its the same as 448lb springs

Anything stiffer than an eibach pro kit is too much for a kyb agx to handle sir. They are not good performance shocks!

I hope that answers your question, and yes I will be on my second set since mine blew. Do your self a favor and get the omni powers and save up for a set of neuspeed koni yellows.

very nice write up...yea i think i heard of the upper strut mounts but thats only for the front right but what about the rear i guess dont drop it too much. I dont know maybe its too much for the shocks and maybe i should just stay with 6k.
