Default OMFG just my luck.!

okay heres the story,

I woke up this morning and went out and started my too let it warm up. After starting it and cleaning off the snow(Colorado) it warms up to NORMAL operating temperature. i then drive off too school (note..6Am) and its -1' outside its freezing. im going down my street and i turn my heater to the on position and it starts blowing out REALLY COLD air? i thought thats weird might go away once i drive a little more might be cold still. i get on the main roads/highways and i see my gauge temp start too rise really fast_/... and im like oh **** i had too keep going about 1/4 mile til i could go into a gas station too take a look at what was going on(note..There's a snow storm) and i see VAPOR rising like crazy from my radiator CAP? i then let it cool down and add water, i start it back up and while at idle its running great temp gauge dosnt move stays at Normal.... but pressure is still being released from the cap and overflowing out? and my heater doesnt work either still? So i had too drive it home im not paying no $200 BUCKS TOO GET IT TOWED. aqnd the whole way home about 4-7 miles the temp gauge stayed at normal operating temp..? but i saw vapor/pressure and smelled coolant coming from underneath my hood and going in the inside of my car LMK Honda-tech.

Maybe a head gasket... or just the rad cap... I happend to me once, I just did the head gasket, the thermostat, water pump, and the timing belt... It fixed it so that might be a good start. I could be wrong, but is there anything leaking on the inside of your car?

Did you remember to fill your radiator with antifreeze before winter? Sounds like it was froze which would cause your heater not to work which relys on heated antifreeze..

thats really helpful...GTFO

to the OP... try replacing the radiator cap, check your oil to see if it is mixed w/ water, or my last thought is that it could be your heater core....

Maybe the thermostat? Easy/quick/cheap repair if it works.

and the correct answer is...
<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by smartass &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Did you remember to fill your radiator with antifreeze before winter? without anti-freeze the water will (as the name implies) freeze and expand, cracking things you don't want cracked.

Worst case, block is trash.
Best case, let it warm up in a garage and drain the "coolant", fill it with 50/50 like you should have from the start, thank someone for you amazing luck on this day and you'll be fine.
Or it could be any thing in between.

Radiator cap is shot and you didn't have enough fluid in your system to warm the air passing through the heater core. If you don't have coolant, you don't have heat.

Just my .02, but check to make sure that the heater control valve (by the firewall) is working correctly too. I've seen them leak a tiny little but when it's super cold and acually stick where you can move the heater control inside and the cable just bends instead of acually opening the valve like it's supposed to. Pretty few and far between, but it happens...
