ok what motor should i do?
I have been going up and down on what i should do. my car is well my screen name. idk if i should do a turbo but i hear theres limits on d16y8 turbo. dont know if i should do a b16 because i hear the tranny isnt geared good. and i dont know about b18's that much. If i do a b16, or b18 swap it wont be turboed, just all motor. and whats the difference between the a/b/c on the motors?

do research. do you want me to drive your car around for you too?
idk about turbos so your on your own there.
B16s have no torque. still fun just thats the biggest complaint. uhh it has short gears and for freeway driving at 4400 rpm can get a little annoying but its livable. otherwise gearing is great.
b18s are good all around motors but they are usually a little more spendy.
its different engines slightly. idk if its in code with the car it goes in or not but they are in different ones.
like b18b is an LS non vtec model
b18a is an old model b. 87-89 also non vtec
b18c1 is gsr
c5 is type r.
and theres a few others but the b18c/c5 is the most common save for ls/vtecs.
pick your induction first. N/A or turbo and your power goals then go from there.

How much money do you want to spend? I would go K20 if i had $4000 or so. There was a complete low mileage JDM K20a eg swap on ebay that sold for about $3000 recently.

There is no one engine that is better than another, there will always be someone out there doing more with less. What you really need to do is research each motor and fully UNDERSTAND what each has to offer and THEN make a decision.

well the other problem is my daily driver is also an auto tranny. so if i were to turbo my d16. im going have to do a tranny swap. which i want to do anyways. but no point of doing a d16 tranny swap if im going to do a b16 or b18 swap. and yeah a k20 would be nice lol. but i dont wanna spend that much. minimum wage at subway can only get me so far
