OK to use 10w 30?
This winter I used 5w 30 Mobil 1, I just bought 10w 30 and I was about to change my oil but then I read the oil cap and it said 5w 30.
So I just need to know if 10w 30 will be alright for my 2000 Si with +/- 35k.
Thanks!

well isn't 5w-30 for cold weather like -20 degrees? Should I try and exhange the 10w30's i have for 5w30? I don't want to risk anything...

i think it has to do with the mileage on your car...when your car is older usually people switch to thicker oil....5w 30 is thinner i believe...but anyways i use synthetic 5w 30 on my civic ..i live in palm springs california...palm springs= hell in the summer

you should run a thicker oil in summer, I run 10-30 mobil 1 in my b16 in the summer. The main reason cars keep 'requiring' thinner and thinner oils (like 5w-20 for the new civics) Is almost all because of emissions standards. Thicker oil will protect your engine just a little bit more.
