ok guy tranny help with my eg (with a h22 heart)
ok just picked up a real clean h22, but the gentleman told me the tranny is a paper weight and wont go into third. So im thinking, for how little i paid for the whole long block and trans (500) and it only has 55,000 thousand on the motor (trans is original, motor is from the east) that i should either fix the trans or buy a new one. Now i was on this great site and heard rumors of a b series trans that, with the help of an adapter will meet the h22.
which would you guys do fix the old, buy new or try the b series theroy?????????
Please help . . . .

use a B16 tranny and B2H adapter. the H and F series trannies are geared aweful, and dont feel particularly as smooth and quick as the B trannies. both are costly, so it all depends on your budget and wants.

Search "h2B"
That is the adapter kit.
The kit alone costs around $900, then you need the B series tranny, flywheel, clutch, axles, mounts, etc.
If you go with the h22 tranny, you need to buy the H tranny, flywheel, clutch, aftermarket h22 mount kit, do one of the many axle combos, H/F series shift linkage(and cut the holes in your car to make them work), etc.
Both ways have their pros and cons.
You just need to decide which is better for you.
