Re: oil smells like gas (redline201)
They both live in the same engine. It's normal. Think about it.
EDIT: please disregard my misinformation.

Um, no.
You live in a house with a toilet. Do you smell like ****?
Sounds like you are running really rich, and are getting a lot of blowby, due to your rings failing, and not sealing properly.
How many miles do you have? Might want to do a compression/leakdown test. Check your plugs to see if you are rich...

Re: oil smells like gas (redline201)
too much fuel can be a cause of this.....if you having a problem with too much fuel then you should look into it. also do these 3 things and you will be set...
1. compression test.
2. leakdown test.
3. fix the runinng rich problem (if you have one)
let us know what you get from the tests

Re: oil smells like gas (80884)
I didn't think he meant a strong smell. Now that I think about it, my oil doesn't smell too much like gas when I drain it. I was recalling when I pulled the valve cover and smelled gas in there with the little bit of oil. I was a little tipsy when I wrote that before, I'm a retard.
Oh yeah, the toilet line was great.

It's obvious I don't know what's going on here. So maybe I have the same problem. I don't blow smoke either, and the gas smell is very vague in my case.

Re: oil smells like gas (Dimi)
i would have suggested broken head gasket. glad you found the problem.
EDIT: if one of your spark plugs wasnt firing, you would've thrown a code. did you?
