Oil Sending Unit
Yo, what's going on you all. So I still haven't gotten the d16y8 swap into my car yet...blown motor to non-blown motor. I took a few days away from it and went to san fransisco and i'm pretty much headed back home now.
The issue im having is with the motor right now is the engine wire harness.
I'm taking the old one off to put it on the new motor, since the new motor's harness is all cut up by whomever took it off the original car.
My question is..How do you take the Oil Sending Unit off the back of the motor without screwing it up? I do have to re-put this on the new motor...i was trying to peel back the black cover on it and it kinda ripped and flaked off...What's the right way to take it off, this is the only thing stopping me from getting the new motor in the car.
Thanks in advance...
cliff notes, whats the proper way to remove the oil sending unit on the back of the d16y8 right above the oil filter, im taking it off so ican put i on the new motor...Need help as promptly as possible..maybe ron's got a diagram...
thanks again.

Re: Oil Sending Unit
Are you trying to get the actually oil pressure sending unit itself off? Or just unplug the connect? I'm guessing its the later, simply grab the black hersheys kiss shaped cover and squeeze and pull back, its not uncommon for them to crack from age, heat and being covered in oil, its just a cover over the actual connector.
