I instaled a new transmission in my car. It has a quaife diff. This trans has given me problems from the start. But anyways when I took it for a test drive it would make a grinding noise when I would let off the throttle. the noise kinda sounds like when you only get a gear half engaged.

Now the the transmissin did start leaking fluid and Im not sure if the car was making the grinding noise from the start or not.

could this noise be from low fluid? I really dont want to have to pull this trans for a 4th time.

Oh problems I have had with this trans

1. it had a cracked case (thus the leaking) JB'ed Hope it holds
2. Clutch would not fully disehgage. ..... Getttign new master and slave (everything else seemed to be fine)
3. this grinding noise


Now should I just put the old trans in that I know workedand just had a bad bearing. As soon as i Get the car to getter it is getting traded in.

whip it back out , split it and have a look dude. otherwise your just gonna end up hurting it.

i think that im jsut goign to put the old trans in and trade the car in there is a good deal on a 2006 maxima by me..

If i do you will see a quaife diff up for sale at a good price.
