I'll post a picture tomorrow. I think I'm going to end up having an exhaust shop extend the exhaust by an inch or two.
I drove with the new exhaust after work and it's much more pleasant than before. All the rattling and awful noise is gone and the engine makes a nice noise. The engine feels way smoother too and encourages you to rev it higher.
Low to mid $200 from places like Summit Racing and other vendors in aftermarket performance. Even THMotorsports (an H-T Vendor) has them on sale. You have to research and call to get the better deals. It's not just going to pop out and hit you in the face.
I've had 2 on Hondas and another on a Toyota/Lexus. It was worth the extra coin for a nice, professional, OEM styled exhaust. C'mon, you know how this works. "You gotta PAY to play."
Still working on the idea of getting an A'PEXi WS2 muffler for my EG hatch w/ B18C1.
I have 2.5" exhaust on there now. The most common size WS2 is 60mm inlet, which would be about 2.3". Does anyone know if this is OD, or ID? I called THMotorsports and the rep did not know, and said they were having phone difficulties, so he could not transfer me to the tech specialists.
Also, they have 3 different 60mm WS2 mufflers; a straight-through design where the inlet is centered, and then a right offset and a left offset. The A'PEXi website says the R & L offset models are chambered, while the centered is a straight-through muffler. Can anyone comment on the noise difference of the straight-through vs. chambered WS2?
Does anyone know if one of the offsets is best for EG hatch?
I've never used the R&L muffler offsets on any of my WS mufflers in the last 15 years. Those look like those are more for applications that have a more angle exhaust.
I've always known the honda ones to be baffled with a very nice sounding note. I can't speak for the other versions used on different vehicles that use the R&L offsets.
YOu need to call APex'i USA directly for verification. The reps from dealers rarely know anything except the part numbers. You'll fall into a dead end there.

I have the full Apexi WS2 system for my 99' Si and it came with the left offset muffler. Lines up perfect with the bumper cutout. Not sure it matters which muffler you get, if you're doing a custom exhaust piping. Post up what you find on the center/straight through muffler. That would be cool if it weren't chambered!

The offsets on the universal WS2s are on the inlet.

The can is a little bigger, so I am going to see if it will fit in the space where the factory had put the muffler on my EH3. And then ask my exhaust guy about using a flange to go from 2.5" to a little over 3" (80mm OD).

No worries! Have you ever tried to fit one of the 80mm turbo mufflers in an EG? Hoping it will fit... Not going to be able to crawl under my car and measure until I get a free minute to myself. Turkey Day is looming large!

Well, I am sad to report that this muffler does NOT fit an EG hatch with a rear sway bar. Not sure if the rear sway bar would even make a difference. The can in this muffler is about 15" long. You really need a muffler that is 14" (or less) to fit the back of an EG hatch.
The EG coupe (and presumably the sedan) have much more overhang behind the rear wheels, but the hatch has a pretty small behind...
It sounds like they will sell me the back section of the WS2 cat back system for my '94 EG hatch, so that sounds okay.
My question to the group - the A'PEXi website lists 2 different WS2 systems for a '94 Civic Si - which one to pick?!?
116-KH02 is shown for '92 - '95 Honda Civic DX/Si, D15/D16 engine, EG/EH/EJ chassis
116-KH01 is for '92 - '00 Civic EX/Si, B16/D16 engine, EJ chassis
Can anyone tell me if one fits the EG hatch better than the other? Both systems show 60.5mm tubing. I have asked them if there is a difference in the actual muffler that will mean one system will flow better than the other. The US office does not seem to know. They also didn't know that the 80mm universal would not fit an EG hatch. I get it, these cars are 25 years old, but how many were made? I am a little concerned they don't have more product info available to answer questions like mine...
