Recently one of my front headlights died and now im replacing it as we speak, what do i have to do to replace it?

do i have to take off the bumper?
there were two clips or hinges (silver) on the headlight and i took them off but it does seem to want to budge. what should i do?

just the bulb?
yeah, just unhook the metal things...press in then at the same time slide them out from behind the tab...it will swing open

Are you trying to replce the bulb or the housing?If youre trying to remove the housing then you need to take the bumper off,if its just the bulb then you dont.To change the bulb look on the backside of the headlight and youll see the electrical connector,unplug it then remove the black rubber boot.You should see a silver clip,release the clip and the bulb comes right out.Reverse to install. hth

yeah i want to replace just the bulb i took the metal things out but the housing seems to be stuck because you said it will swing open and nothing happened

youre not removing the housing
youre clearly in the wrong spot...

see where the wires go into the unit? disconnect the wires (squeeze near the base), then remove the rubber cover.
inside there you'll see the metal-wire frame that youre supposed to swing out (along with the bulb itself)
once you get that far you can figure it out

ok i unplugged the wires and the rubber cover. i got it out now. thanks

My car (ek) doesnt have those little clips that hold the headlights in. Ive had a ton of trouble with them breaking the tabs on the back of the housing that holds them in..so I don't have them anymore and it's fine. That little rubber boot hangs onto them quite well.

Nope. They're fine. Just get them set in the slots for the lights like you want them and adjust them agianst a flat wall by the rubber boot. Works for me and I don't ever get flashed at night, so what the hell..works for me?
