Default OBDI ZC or Y8 96 Coupe

I have a 96 Coupe and I got a heck of a deal on a OBDI ZC with ECU. I am planning on running a small home made turbo setup on my Civic, and not sure if I should swap out the stock Y8 with 167K on it (runs fine, uses about 1qt of oil per change) for the ZC, or should I Just leave the Y8 in?

Suggestions or opinions.

Thanks!

I don't like Y motors.

ZC FTW

ZC will make better HP numbers, but try to find the zc axels and tranny too

Depends on your local and state laws. a 1996+ civic is OBD2, which in most states requires you to have an OBD2 (same year as car, or newer) motor operating in it.

With that aside, ZC would have more power off the bat.

In my state, the cars are not inspected so thats not a concern.

Sell the car, and the ZC motor, and get an S2000. Getting the ZC in there would be a little more work, for something that may or may not run.

Thanks Wise, but the promotion at work wasn't as good as I was expecting. So I will be keeping the coupe a little longer.

So... Looks like the Honda-tech verdict would be to install the ZC motor, even though the HP difference won't be much?

I didn't get the ZC Tranny. Just the motor.

I know the ZC's tranny and Axles are better, but I didn't get them in the package deal, and I just put a new input shaft bearing in my Y8 tranny...

What would be the cons of the ZC Motor (If any) going into a 96-00 Civic?
