you can't use an obd2a harness in an obd2b car you need a engine harness from a 99-00. they make ecu adapter not a harness adapter. and the ecu with 4 spots for plugs is from an automatic.

Trust me, I learned the longer way, LOL. You need to use a harness that matches the year of your car in this particular instance.

yeah, its the little plastic box that has the plastic ring that goes around the barrel. theres a little plug that should be fitting directly into it but it doesnt.

Re: OBD2B to OBD2A Question ; Civic 99-00 with engine 96-98
the immobileser will work fine regardless of the ecu
but you will find a red/white wire in the green plug that needs to be cut or it will short out the sensor voltage wire from the ecu dropping the voltage down to around 2V and cause all sorts of issues
once you have found that wire and cut it at the green plug
the rest is plug n play
I spent 5 days chasing this until I sat and followed every wire to find the problem
here in Australia all EK civics have the immobilizer standard

You would have been better off just getting a adapter harness to obd1 and getting a obd1 B16 ecu.... there are ways to bypass the immobilizer as said above .... or google By-pass immobilzer and im sure someone has a detailed write up on it.

Re: OBD2B to OBD2A Question ; Civic 99-00 with engine 96-98
thanks guys, i may try it but the only reason im doing it is trying to narrow down the fact that the engine is turning over, but i aint getting any spark. Theres fuel going to it yeah but no spark. Plus there isnt a green light on the dash.
I have got a odb1 adapter harness for the b16 ecu fitted. Any thoughts?

Okay folks, try n help me out here.
I have sent the attachments above (hopefully you can see them okay)
But really i have four wires coming from the dash harness - brown, blue red and yellow/black. I need to somehow wire these into my immobilser unit. The large box as seen in the image attachments.
Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks
