Default OBD2B D16Y8 Automatic into 96 Civic EX AUTOMATIC

Been searching and can't find what I'm looking for.

2 issues

If I adjust the bolt holes so that 2 bolts will screw in, will the TD80U distributor work?

Will an OBD2A auto ex ecu work without modification for this engine?

For simplicity sake as long as the new engine is from an auto just reuse your alternator and ECU.

The distributor is the issue, not the alternator.

This thread is a complete mess because you failed to provide all required car information in your first post.

https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-...modifications/

Use the distributor from the 96 Civic EX auto.

What did I leave out? I'm trying to put an automatic obd2b d16y8 into a 1996 civic ex automatic. I don't know why this is confusing....

Have you read your own thread? Trim/engine for your 96 Civic and the transmission coupled to the OBD2B D16Y8.

Complete mess. Read the forum Rules.

Did you read the title? Engine is d16y8, also says auto in the title. Didn't know the model mattered since all the obd2a models use the TD80U distributor....

The bolt holes don't line up properly, which is why I'm trying to figure out if I can modify the ears on the distributor to make it bolt up and if it will work properly with the obd2b engine.
