OBD1 b16a vtec problems - Searched endlessly
Alright so ive been narrowing this problem down....
Ive got a 1994 Dx hatch. No factory vtec wires ran(obviosuly) and i jsut swapped in my b16a. The wiring harness that i bought when i swapped it in never had any wires running for the knock sensor, which didnt matter at the time because the knock sensor is broken. So we just left it. I was throwing Code #22 vtec pressure. So then i hooked my buddies s300 chipped p28 up to my car. It made #22 go away but then i took it out for a drive and tried to engage vtec and #21 popped on.
Couple days later i found a thread on here that told my to run a Skywire between the a4 and d6 pins and that will get the codes to go away(which it did). So now im driving around with no check engine lights, remember still no knock sensor(no cel) and vtec isn't engaging. Im running a PR3 ECU and for whatever reason it wont engage.
Would i be correct to hook up that p28 again therefore making vtec work without having to wire up that knock sensor?
It can't be much more work to figure this out. Plz help! Thanks guys!
