Default o2 sensor question

hi i was wondering if a front o2 sensor from denso will work for the rear bank..?? or will i need a rear o2 sensor.. 96 civic ex is the car... let me kno where i can get 1 from!! thanks

really you dont need any rear O2 unless the CEL bothers you.

The best prices I have seen for OEM Denso oxygen sensors are on Amazon and http://www.densoproducts.com.

The densoproducts site says that the regular universals for the 96 Civic EX are interchangeable between rear and front. OTOH, Honda OEM parts sites like http://www.bkhondaparts.com give different part numbers and prices for the front and rear. I would call denso's customer service toll free line and ask.

Be aware that Denso universal sensors will require that you splice wires. A lot of people prefer paying more and getting a direct fit (= unplug old; plug in new) sensor.

I am assuming your engine is stock. If not, all bets above are off.

nahh i need a 2ndary o2 sensor because i need to pass inspection..
