normal operating temp for a d16????
ive got a brand new motor put in a temp gauge not sure on the temp? in like two miles i went from 0 to 240degrees farenhiet and its a brand new thermostat. also do you know at what temp the fans supposed to kick on??

Should come on between 190 and 200 I believe... To confirm this start up the car and let it idle with a thermometer in the radiator. The fan should come on between 190° to 200°F. It should shut off at 182° to 188°F.
If it doesn't, you may have a bad cooling fan motor switch or relay. It could be possible that the fan motor itself is bad.

thanks ill try that. i left school for lunch got back to school and coolant was everywere. coming from the overflow tank will it still overheat like that if the thermostat opens but the fan doesent come on?

overheating has a lot of different causes... I dealt with a similiar issue as yours with my sr20 swapped 240sx... turns out my radiator was shot... replaced it and it was good to go

Oh brand new radiator and cap overflow tank and thermostat . the thermostat is honda so it should not be bad yet its only been in three days along with the radiator so m thinkin its the fan rather it be a relay, switch or motor? do you have any ways to text those???
